Welcoming the Year of the Snake: A Time for Growth and Renewal

Writer's picture: Raising TogetherRaising Together

Today, I want to share about the Lunar New Year, a meaningful celebration in many Asian cultures. It begins tomorrow and lasts until February 4. 2025 is the Year of the Snake in the Chinese zodiac, a symbol of change, growth, and fresh starts. It’s a time to reflect on the past, let it go, and focus on becoming the best version of ourselves.

People born in the Year of the Snake—2025, 2013, 2001, 1989, 1977, and more—are known for being smart, charming, and intuitive. These traits remind us to use wisdom and courage to navigate the year ahead.

Around the world, about 2 billion people celebrate Lunar New Year with traditions like China’s Chūnjié, Vietnam’s Tết, South Korea’s Seollal, and Tibet’s Losar. In the U.S., communities come together with vibrant events in cities like New York, San Francisco, and Houston.

As we welcome the Year of the Snake, let’s take this opportunity to focus on growth, embrace change, and move forward with hope and confidence.

Happy Lunar New Year! 🐍
